Mission Statement :

  • We believe all individuals have the right to achieve their potential, that individual learning abilities can be strengthened and that social, educational, and cultural barriers to language acquisition and use must be removed.

  • The International Dyslexia Association actively promotes effective teaching approaches and related clinical educational intervention strategies for dyslexics. We support and encourage interdisciplinary study and research. We facilitate the exploration of the causes and early identification of dyslexia and are committed to the responsible and wide dissemination of research-based knowledge.

  • What are the Benefits for Join us?

    Dissemination of knowledge about dyslexia is the primary focus of branch activities. Toward this end, we:

    • Publish a newsletter.
    • Facilitate support group meetings.
    • Host an annual spring conference.
    • Host an informational booth at the WEAC Teacher's Convention each year.
    • Maintain a web site providing information about dyslexia and branch activities.
    • Support multisensory structured language teacher training opportunities.
    • Provide scholarships to individuals for teacher training and conference attendance.
    • Present awards to individuals or groups who provide exemplary support in the area of dyslexia.
    • Host an annual General Membership Meeting each Fall
